Co-parenting counselling
Before applying to the Agency of Family Law (Familieretshuset) for a solution, it is worthwhile to try to unite different perspectives about what is best for your child.
Divorce and breakups can be a challenging process for everyone involved, especially children. It can be difficult to see your child struggling with the emotions and changes that come with divorce, breakups, and child custody disagreements. It's common for a parent to feel uncertain about what to do or how to help their child cope with significant life changes, such as divorce or breakup.
If you need help understanding your child's situation and need advice on how you can best support your child, please book a co-parenting counselling session that allows you to discuss your child's situation with a Bridging Families advisor and get advice and guidance on how to best support your child’s well-being while co-parenting. Our counsellors can offer helpful advice for parents on how best to support their child during this time and provide valuable insights into any potential co-parenting issues that may need addressing. Working with a qualified Bridging Families professional ensures everyone involved gets the most out of the counselling experience while creating strong foundations for healthy family dynamics in future years.
Child counseling can provide valuable insight into underlying differences and ultimately help the family understand each other better. We can support you in navigating the emotions that may arise in connection with divorce or separation, such as anger, fear, shame, guilt, and sadness. It can be beneficial to express these feelings in a supportive environment and receive necessary emotional and psychological support in challenging times, rather than holding them in or acting inappropriately and counterproductively.
Co-parenting counselling can offer valuable parental insights into underlying issues and ultimately help both the parent and their child/children better understand each other. We can offer support and guidance as you navigate and understand the feelings triggered by the divorce or breakup, such as anger, fear, shame, guilt, and sadness. This understanding can be beneficial in helping you safely express your emotions in a supportive environment rather than bottling them up or acting inappropriately. Co-parenting counselling can help families adjust to major life changes and gain greater insight into each other's feelings and perspectives about divorce or breakup, ultimately allowing family members to heal together while still maintaining healthy and respectful boundaries between themselves. We can help you develop a new understanding of your situation, enabling you to move forward through difficult life transitions without developing long-lasting and destructive patterns.
Co-parenting counselling is for both parents. However, if only one of you needs advice, we can arrange counseling accordingly.
